Honey Jar is the Place to Bee

I have worked with a lot of different computer systems over the course of my
career and for the most part they all do a pretty good job of capturing
information and performing the transactions necessary to complete the task
at hand.   Unfortunately for most organizations, it is much easier entering
data into their transactional systems than it is getting information back
out.

I like to think of transactional systems as Beehives.  Beehives always have
a swarm of users that are performing individual tasks that contribute to the
creation of honey.  The trick is getting your hands on the honey without
getting stung;)

Imagine if you could extract the honey from the hive and transport it to a
Honey Jar, then you could access the Honey Jar without disrupting the Hive.

That my fellow honey lovers is the sweet story of how a Data Warehouse
works.
